The Lear Center’s Hollywood, Health & Society program will announce the winners of the tenth annual Sentinel for Health Awards Ceremony. Six categories of storylines will be recognized — daytime drama, primetime drama, primetime comedy, primetime drama minor storyline, children’s programming, and the newly-added global health storyline.
The Sentinel for Health Awards recognize exemplary portrayals of health issues in daytime dramas, primetime dramas, primetime comedies and telenovelas. Past recognition has been given for storylines about breast cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, alcoholism, disability, fetal alcohol syndrome, car crashes, organ donation and safe sex.
