Grand Avenue Intervention:

The Existing Park
Submitted by Herman Hassig, Los Angeles
My background is such that I don’t think I can contribute ideas for the future Grand Avenue Park. Something, however, bugs me.
With all the publicity about this plan, I have not seen mentioned that the actual park between City Hall and the Department of Water and Power already exists, except the part between City Hall and Broadway. Specifically; there is the area around the Arthur Will Memorial Fountain; the Paseo de los Pobladores and the Court of Flags.
Any publicity to the general public about this plan should mention the existing park and indicate how much of the existing design will be preserved or replaced by something else.
