A Place of Repose
Submitted by Tom Holzbog
This park should be a place of repose for people, a retreat of simple open green space, informal and natural in character, contrasted and defined by a hard urban edge of surrounding high-rises. Predominately soft-scape, it should incorporate earth mounding and water elements, much like any of our great world parks–but not a Disney theme world, save a selected few recreational or monumental elements within the site. Pedestrian activity should be kept on the ground level, not elevated on causeways and overpasses. We must keep in mind that this is not a large area, and that ?it?s better to be good than different?.
