Hyde Park in Los Angeles

COMMENT I agree with this Hyde Park idea. Downtown is bleak. All it needs is a fabulous park. Forget all the culturally diverse rubbish. Just give us a beautiful park, well lit, well taken care of, safe, toilet facilities, a small place to buy simple food. Lots of benches, tables for picnics. Lots of trees, trees. Shirley Sacks |
Thank you for your thoughtful piece, Mr. Kaplan. Veering toward trendiness, however, is not the way to go. A perfect model of an urban oasis already exists. We need merely learn from it and keep our creation simple. It’s Hyde Park in London. Tell the trendsetters to retreat to the Westside, please.
